Cage- A old book about a wolf and a fox that I had been making with my friend Chapter One -Amber- When I woke up, I was trapped in a cage with a wolf pup. How peculiar; earlier today I was with my mother, eating a rabbit, and I must have fallen asleep. I can’t remember. I was busy thinking about this, I didn’t notice the wolf pup waking up. “Where am I?” she squealed. “I don’t know…” I replied cautiously. “Oh… so how do we get out?” She asked nervously. “I don’t know, I was hoping you knew,” I said, already giving up. I lifted my head. “Wait! Do you see those paw prints over there? It could be a clue!” I said suddenly. “Cool! The paw prints over there look like a domestic dog or a red fox!” She squealed in delight! “It’s a red fox, cause I’m a red fox!” I said excitedly! “You're a fox? B-but I’m a wolf, wait what skulk are you in? I’m in a pack next to a burnt tree!” She said, “The burnet tree? But I’m in the skulk in the moor,” I said in terror! “Well, I’m just plain bored stuck in here,” She sighed. “I’ll tell you a story… I guess to pass time. Once the leader of my skulk had a family, in a tree, his dad taught him how to hunt and fight, a few days later the tree he lived in caught on fire in a storm! He and his family fled, but he tripped and got left behind,” I said, “He teamed up with a vixen named Pearl, she was exiled from Maple’s skulk, the one she was born in, one day Oak, that’s his name met a shy vixen, whose name is Willow, one day Oak moved into a cave because he thought it was empty. Turns out that his sister, Ruby lived there and had a mate and a kit! Soon, Willow and Oak were mates!” “Ooh!” The wolf pup interrupted. “One day, a few days before Willow gave birth… A badger attacked! Oak was really sad but later, became mates with Pearl. Pearl gave birth to a young vixen, Oak named her Willow, after his old mate,” I continued. “After Willow grew up, Pearl gave birth to another vixen, her name is Midnight because she was as black as the night sky! After Midnight grew up, Oak made a skulk in the moor. At first, three foxes joined; Cinder, who became a guard. Ash, a black fox who became a hunter, and finally Cloudie, who was albino, so he stayed inside often and played with the kits! Midnight gave birth to three kits, their other kits' names are Honeycomb, Pine, Night, and Apple,” I said. “But Oak was getting old, he knew he couldn’t make Pearl the leader because she was too violent. And so he made Ash, who was calmer and thought before he fought, the new leader!” I said, “Then Maple’s skulk needed more land, so Ash and Maple fought, since Maple was pretty slow, Ash won! Maple’s skulk moved into a different forest and soon a wolf pa…” I paused, “That's your wolf pack right?” “Yeah…” She whispered. “And our packs are rivals? Right?” I responded. “Oh no! Each side will blame each other for us missing!” She gasped, “Try putting your paw in that paw print!” I put my paw in there and the cage got bigger. The new part of the cage had a rabbit eating a carrot. I pounced on the rabbit and hesitated but gave some fresh kill to the wolf. While we ate, I asked the wolf pup what her name is, she said her name is Nai, then we drifted to sleep. -End of Chapter !1-
