oh would you look at that, a project on my MAIN account.
This right here is a concept for another type of segmented display. This is based on the 22-segment display (https://archive.org/details/bitsavers_litronixdaOptoelectronicsCatalog_31011858/page/n81/mode/2up?view=theater ), which adds a diagonal for k, s, and x, 2 dots for i, j, and basic punctuation, as well as descenders for p, q, and y. The main idea that lead to the creation of this was the 4. With 14, 16, and 22 segments, the 4 has no hole. It's open. The 3 extra diagonals are mainly used for rounding of letters, and 2 more descenders are there to make the y and parentheses be more accurate. With this, the 4 can have a hole, the S is no longer a 5, 1 can have a diagonal, v and y are identical to how they normally are, d's vertical can be on the left instead of the center, j has a curved tail, q is no longer compromised alot, and ampersand actually looks like one.
