okay so explanation? leafy is born one of three triplets; the others being her brother holly and her sister maple (evil leafy), her father, their sole caretaker, died when they were very young, leaving leafy's older sister crabapple to take care of three very young kits and paperwork. Leafy feels bad about her sister doing all the work, and an idea forms. Leafy signs up for a newly announced gameshow: Battle for Dream Island, as she believes that the prize offered could help her family, and leaves her hometown to where the game is being hosted- goiky. Leafy meets Firey along the way, and they become very close, they're best friends. Leafy and Firey become the final two contestants, and Firey wins. Leafy is happy about this, and visits the prize he had won; the titular Dream Island. Leafy and Firey go on a special ferris wheel designed especially for Firey, but Firey forgot to mention something. The ferris wheel occasionally dumps lava onto it's occupants. Only Firey and very few other contestants can survive that. (this is changed from the original source material- as in the actual bfdi this happens before firey wins dream island but I changed it so that it´d make more sense) So, when the lava finds its way into their seat, Leafy is engulfed in flames, reaching out for Firey. Firey reaches his paw out but- he retracts it. Leafy dies, and Firey leaves. When Leafy is recovered, she finds that Firey has since banned her from Dream Island, and in fury- Leafy turns her back on him. Leafy turns her back on him and buys Dream Island out from under his paws. Everyone is mad at Leafy, and follows her, they want to well- they want to execute her. Leafy is swooped up by Firey on a hang glider, he's sorry about what he did, but suddenly, the hang glider crashes, (this isn't pictured in this chapter cause I wanted it to be shorter but do know that it happened) and Leafy is chased by the other contestants. Firey is sorry, but he doesn't help her again, as he feels it would be easier for him to not. Leafy is on the verge of being caught by Pin, but escapes to Yoyleland. Leafy spends 3 years in a Yoyleberry field, surviving only off of the berries in the field, which turn people into metal if they eat enough. Leafy has being seething in anger for years, and when she sees Coiny- now one of Fireys closest friends (as they had gotten over their rivalry)- alone in Fries garden, she is taken over by her headspace instincts (seen earlier in the chapter) and kills him. She snaps out of it afterwards, and mourns.
