May 5 is the National Day for Missing and Murdered Native Women and Girls Awareness Day. this is a vv special day bc it's a day when the Indigenous/First Nations/normal people should also wear red to show their support to the families who have had wives, daughters, aunts and cousins disappear. when they report the disappearances to the police, or the government? they're not taken seriously, and the women and girls stay missing. REDress is a project where people hang up red dresses in trees, parks, art installations- anywhere people might see them. the dresses are to recognize that the girls and women disappeared and this is a real problem. the reason the dresses are red is bc in some Indigenous/First Nation cultures, red is the only color spirits can see. who among you reading this will wear red on May 5?
