1987 Buick GNX The acronym "GNX" stands for "Grand National Experimental", and was built for the final model year of the second-generation Regal. The GNX was developed in cooperation with McLaren/ASC, and gained many upgrades to improve performance. Changes include a bigger turbocharger, upgraded intercooler, low-restriction dual exhaust, and a reprogrammed transmission (just to name a few). Only 547 GNXs were made, all of which were painted black, earning the nickname "Darth Vader's Car".
