The original PlayStation was the first console to sell over 100 million units and set itself as the leader in the console market. Because of the PlayStation Sega was forced to leave the console market because of the loss of money. Nintendo would have a little trouble with the Nintendo 64 and the GameCube but got themselves back with the Wii. Microsoft would create the Xbox because of the success of the PlayStation and how it could have the PC market go Bankrupt with the upcoming PlayStation 2 even though PlayStation 2 would beat everyone with 155 million units sold with the Xbox selling 24 million units and the GameCube selling 21 million units.
