What I learned: doesn't have any health issues; can't reproduce; most likely has XX chromosome pair but didn't develop reproductive organs like XX usually do ~ ~ POOR IMMUNITY Links: https://wagwalking.com/cat/condition/weak-immune-system https://www-petcarerx-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.petcarerx.com/article/4836/does-your-cat-have-a-weak-immune-system-heres-what-you-should-know.html?amp_js_v=a6&_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQKKAFQArABIIACAw%3D%3D#aoh=16507220512284&_ct=1650722396316&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.petcarerx.com%2Farticle%2Fdoes-your-cat-have-a-weak-immune-system-heres-what-you-should-know%2F4836 https://www-insider-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.insider.com/low-immune-system?amp_js_v=a6&_gsa=1&&usqp=mq331AQKKAFQArABIIACAw%3D%3D#aoh=16507250038918&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.insider.com%2Flow-immune-system What I learned: caused by lack of white blood cells; can cause susceptibility to infections of the skin, stomach, and respiratory system; some symptoms include becoming sick a lot, recurrent infections, stunted growth, anorexia, lethargy, poor coat, fatigue; possible prevention from getting sick could be isolation from other animals and not leaving camp, though neither of these are very realistic options for them; this is hereditary; infections may not always respond to medicines well; more likely to get sick after being stressed ~
~ CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME Links: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/chronic-fatigue-syndrome/symptoms-causes/syc-20360490 https://www.cdc.gov/me-cfs/index.html What I learned: fatigue worsens with activity both physical and mental ( this is called PEM ); sleep/rest doesn't help; difficulties with focus, concentration, memory; dizziness with moving position; other random fluctuating symptoms are headaches, sore throat, chills, digestive issues, shortness of breath, irregular heartbeat, vivid dreaming; muscle spasms while asleep, soreness of skin when it's touched, and muscle and joint pain; social isolation and depression are possible effects; at times can be bad enough to confine to a den- can be for long periods of time too; exhaustion after activity can be described as a 'crash' or 'collapse'- these often take a while to recover from; problems falling asleep and staying asleep also can occur; managing activities each day can help against PEM; though it's tempting to push the limits on good days, this can cause a crash; sleep problems can be handled with good sleep patterns and sometimes sleeping medicine; ways to deal with pain include medicine, stretching, massages and heat; helping with the dizziness from changing positions may include drinking more water; as a kit, the most affecting symptoms would be dizziness, sleep problems, and head and stomach pain as well as the usual fatigue ~
