Earth day is an annual event started by Gaylord Nelson in spring 1970. He demanded a day to show support for the earth as where we live. Gaylord Nelson wanted an act to happen for clean water, clean air, and to just protect our environment. This was a brilliant idea leading it to a global event in 1990. Many people contribute to help the earth on April 22nd. Gaylord Nelson wanted to get a national or global demonstration of concern for the environment. Our earth is still dying with all the toxins in the air, the carbon, global warming, climate change, pollution, oil spills and much much more.
