The super emeralds are grey because S.A.M (Sonic After mania) is going SM (Sonic mania) style where the super emeralds are grey..... That was confusing for you wasn't it? just go watch like a Sonic mania lets play or walk though and skip to like part where you see the grey emeralds. Srry that the emeralds are so plain looking
