The second Albion broadcaster to begin broadcasting was the Southern Broadcasting Company, from the Chillerton Down transmitter, on the 1st of April, 1957. At launch, the SBC used this novel symbol, nicknamed the "S Cube". It didn't last long, however, due to its sheer unpopularity with the Southern viewing base.
