Pi Mai is the best holiday. It's a Lao holiday where you get to spray people with water. It's so so fun because you get to spray other people and shoot them with water guns, and it's completely acceptable. Nobody will get mad at you (though some people may be a bit unhappy). It's also REALLY REALLY hot at this time of year, so you want to get wet because it's so hot. The hotel room I was staying was at the party, literally (not figuratively) we had people sitting on our porch. Though the party didn't go on for too long, it only went on till around 9:30 pm, which is early for most parties.
