(Spoiler if you didn't see the whole slideshow) The Higgs Boson was predicted by a British physicist called Peter Higgs (hence the name). It would explain the masses of the universe and it is SUPER IMPORTANT in particle physics. If it didn't exist, there would be NOTHING in the universe (according to National Geographic). The Higgs Boson was officially "seen" in 2013 after 33 years of hard work.
