“Sorrows of Yore” ———————————————————————— I have pondered many times over The writings of forgotten yore; shall you oh nobility of the mind capture our sorrows and expel them; oh antique sorrows from the past overcome us; leaving Us to die. Whether it is greater to concede that these sorrows Are in our minds; noble or peevish; Or to overcome it through our Fortifications in the Mind. Our troubles leave us to rot in Internal doom; we quiver at The thought of these sorrows. We fortified our minds long ago, Twas’ To cast out these sorrows, Tis’ to endeavor this process we Have Tried. We ought to live the present Right and true to the period. Tis’ To endure avoiding the sorrows of yore. Tis’ the cause of which we flee from the sorrows of yore; Tis’ The greatness of the Present Which we endeavor to Seek. We flee from the long forgotten Sorrows of yore; which once Endeavored to Kill our ancestors before us. Tis’ the sorrows of yore Which we flee. The sorrows of the present can not be heard over the clamor of the sorrows of yore. The sorrows of the present are Overseen by the Sorrows of yore. Tis’ the sorrows of yore That torments the present.
