Learn Swedish words! I kind of went for the flashing lights vibe, it turned out just okay. Click to start my project! It's a little weird, sorry. When the screen is red, you see a Swedish word. If you want to know the English, put the mouse under the middle of the screen to make it blue and the English shows up! When the screen is red, you can click left to go "back" and right to go "forward," as this is more of a flashcard kind of project, not a random quiz. I don't think the flashiness of the project helps, but it's kinda fun! I like the primary colors, anyway, and it was fun to experiment with the style. I did my best, lol. In the English I included the different forms of these words because they are sometimes difficult to recognize. Flashcards are important, because they keep the vocabulary alive in your brain! Sorry the project is so ugly and flashy. I don't know, I guess I'm not too good at making projects. Funny enough, I found an old book written in the 1960s in Sweden about this girl named Lotte. It is a book for children, so I'm so excited to read it! Having reading ability in three different languages is something I'm happy to say I have -- because I love reading, even in English. I'm interested in this story, even if it is difficult, it's old and funny. As always, if you see errors please say something. I have to say, reading Swedish is pretty interesting, too, because it looks a lot different than German. In my opinion, Swedish is way more similar to English, but having German does help. Swedish feels like English, sometimes looks like English, and in general, I think I'm still in the honeymoon phase regarding my relationship with Swedish. German words are so long... and always out of order. Reading Swedish feels like reading the decorative books at IKEA. And I'm just blown away at how much easier it is to learn, having already been through this process. When reading the book, I try not to look up words until the very end of a chapter, after I've already made my guesses about context. It's also important not to get hung up on different words, until you know the key words, again, at the end of the chapter. Reading ability is one part of language learning! There are other parts too, like speaking, but here especially, I'm practicing recognition and understanding.
