Look she's finally done uhoh giant desc incoming!! (Sorry haha ;v;) now time to work on my ATs and DTs ^^" []Name: Cascade []Gender: Demi-female []Pronouns: She/They (uses she/her more often) []Sexuality: Asexual omniromantic []Age: 12 []Species: Water/Ice/Lightning dragon []Personality: (TL;DR or summarization at the end but it is recommended you read the full thing) Charismatic and confident, Cascade is an extroverted dragon. She’s quick to make a joke and think of a clever comeback, so watch out when you try to insult her. Despite this, she can also come off as a goofy and lighthearted individual, especially to those they look up to. She loves to go on adventures and is very brave, though some would call her reckless. She’s also quite stubborn and will not take no for an answer. They enjoy making friends, but relationships aren’t very important to them. Sometimes, though, they may develop feelings for another dragon, but they have a hard time discerning that for really wanting to be someone’s friend. She cares immensely for the dragons close to her and would do anything for them, and is sometimes overprotective. She always makes sure to be aware of her friend’s feelings and tries to cheer them up when they feel down. Although she isn’t the most physically fit and can’t fly long distances or carry large items, she can be quick to duck behind a cargo box if you catch them doing some mischievous antics. They are very street smart and good at accessing somebody’s character but hides this fact to most dragons. Because of this, they can sometimes seem like a comedy relief character, but don’t let them fool you. Cascade also has a kind of mild ADHD, making it harder for them to focus on less interesting subjects and often leading to the exasperation of others. Even though they consider themself a moral dragon, they are well learned in thieving practices and sleight of hand, but what else can a dragon do to survive in the harsh desert? There is another side to Cascade though. On the inside, Cascade is a nervous dragon. She struggles with social anxiety and has very prominent trust issues due to her rough past. She constantly wonders if she’s good enough and is harshly critical of herself. She always assumes people think the worst of her and can break pretty easily if someone she respects shows signs of disliking her. She’s also easily frightened, even if she doesn’t show it on the surface. She gets night terrors and nightmares and this results in her often being tired when she’s active. She usually keeps composure, but when she loses her patience she can be very quick to insult and hurt another dragon psychologically. However, she tries to push through her challenges and is very persistent. TL;DR: Cascade is a seemingly confident, clever, and funny dragon that has an anxious side to her. []Other: Cascade enjoys drawing, especially animals. She will often draw things for other dragons as gifts and such. They also enjoy reading and writing, mostly fiction. They daydream alot about what might have happened if some events in their life didn’t play out the way they did. She also likes collecting things like shiny rocks or odd objects in the sand. When she comes across trees she likes climbing them and also likes exploring. She has a cozy cave only accessible through an underwater cenote on the outskirts of one of the larger towns in the Shard Desert. Because she’s part ice dragon and is more sensitive to heat, she is mostly nocturnal and usually spends her day sleeping. Since she’s very young to be on her own, most dragons are surprised and underestimate her. She likes calling other dragons “baby girl” as a joke sometimes. Especially her close friends, but she does it to random dragons too because she thinks it’s funny. Also, she usually does it to male dragons more often.
[]Abilities: Cascade can breathe underwater, though when she does it feels like breathing through a straw and she can’t do it for more than two and a half hours. She can also send off smaller electric shocks through her claws, teeth, and tail but can’t do more than temporarily stun a dragon without getting overly fatigued. She has ice breath and cold resistance. Her ice breath is weaker than normal and can thaw out more easily. They also have a very fast metabolism. []Backstory: TW: death, implied attempt at self unaliving and physical abus3 (Again, TL;DR at the end but I recommend reading the whole thing, though this one is less important than personality) Hurricane and Cobalt met one day when Cobalt was exploring by the border between the Shard Desert and the sea. Unlike other dragons, Cobalt wasn’t taken aback by hybrids and treated them like any normal dragons. Hurricane was surprised at this and they conversed well into the night. Deciding that they had hit it off too well to never see each other again, they set up a plan where they would meet up at that exact spot every few days or so. Their visits began to be the highlight of their week and they began to fall in love with each other. One day, about a year after they had met, Hurricane finally admitted his feelings to Cobalt and Cobalt revealed that it was mutual. The two became a couple and Hurricane proposed another year later. When the two had Cascade, Cobalt knew that they would need someone to cover for them. She decided to tell her closest friend, Scorpionfish, about everything. This proved to be a bad decision, however, as Scorpionfish despised hybrids and tried to force Cobalt to abandon Hurricane. Cobalt refused and ran away, leaving Scorpionfish furious. He framed her for stealing a precious treasure and soon she was a wanted fugitive. The pair decided to go and try to hide out with a family friend, Mirage, a desert dragon many assume to be part jungle dragon, for the time being. However, when they attempt to escape, the water dragons tracked them down and hit Hurricane’s wing with an arrow. They leave Cascade with Mirage and lead the water dragons away, ultimately sacrificing themselves. Mirage is at first reluctant to raise Cascade, but eventually warms up to her. He’s very strict and firm, and so their relationship starts off rickety but they soon become inseparable. He teaches her how to fight and how to think sharply. Mirage has a skin condition preventing him from going into the Shard Desert because of the intense sun and so he lives on the outskirts of the jungle. Because of this, the water dragons, along with some jungle dragons whom they convinced Mirage and Cascade had destroyed their food supply, find them and corner them. Mirage fights them off the best he can as a distraction so Mirage can fly to the Shard Desert. Distraught about her father figure’s death, she spirals into a really bad emotional state and almost starves herself to death. She is found by a kind couple, an ice dragon named Yeti and an electricity dragon named Flash who were also grieving the loss of their son. Cascade, though hesitant to grow attached at first because of her past, ends up becoming very close to them and especially looks up to and respects Yeti. They live happily together for a while, but one day Flash catches a terminal sickness and succumbs to it. Yeti breaks after this, and grows more cold and more twisted until eventually he snaps on Cascade. He takes all his anger out on her and ends up falling into a routine of abusing her. Cascade, still believing he has good in him and genuinely thinking that his actions are justified, sticks around and endures both mental and physical pain for almost a year. When he slashes her underbelly and she almost bleeds out. She gets away by stunning him with an electric shock, drags herself to the nearest doctor, luckily not very far away, and barely survives. She then travels around the desert until she finds a town very far away and settles down in a cave on the edge. Even though she’s comfortable there and it would be much safer to stay inside a hard shell, she still longs to once again have dragons she’s close to and, if prompted, would not hesitate to go on an adventure! TL;DR: Cascade’s parents had a forbidden love and were hunted down and killed. They left Cascade with a family friend, an old desert/jungle dragon living on the edge of the rainforest, named Mirage. They were eventually found again and Mirage sacrificed himself to save Cascade, who fled to the Shard Desert where hybrids were legal. There, she was adopted by an Electricity/Ice dragon couple who’s hybrid son had recently passed away. The electricity dragon also eventually passed away and the ice dragon took out his anger on Cascade rather violently. Cascade finally ran away and is now living in another town, though who knows where her story will go next?
