thanks so much for letting me do this part! tbh i have a terrible tendency of dropping out of map parts, so i was really happy to finish this, especially since i usually don’t work with cool pastel palettes like this i was a little nervous and i kept procrastinating lol! also please lmk if you need any changes, i wanted to finish ASAP so if there were any changes there would be plenty of time to make them before the map is finished notes: i know wist said that there was a lot of potential for this part to be emotional and for it to have strong themes of nostalgia so i hope it came across somewhat sentimental! when i started this i was thinking about themes that are personal to me so i thought i’d make this part about coming back to your suburban hometown as a return to familiarity, and i thought this also played on the theme of nostalgia and memories! i have always lived in my hometown but i am also one of those people who longs to leave.. but i also feel attached emotionally to it if that makes sense??? anyway i put a lot of thought into this part so i’m proud of it :) the second shot is my fav.. i wanted to show that she’s returning quickly with excitement, and i also wanted to show those signs of youth present in the area, like carvings on trees that could’ve been left behind when she was younger. she also wears a jacket with jeans and a turtleneck suggesting that she came from a colder area, and the place she’s returning to seems sunny as implied by all the flowers and warm colors :D i also gave her greens in her outfit to contrast with the blues in the first shot, but she has on blue/lavender jacket and jeans, which also show this accommodation to a different area color-wise!
