Homophobia is something that many people know exists, but don't pay much attention to. Over the past few years, LGBTQ+ people have been more open- but that came with a struggle. Homophobia. Homophobia can be expressed in many different ways. Online, in real life, or by small acts. Even though some of these acts are small: homophobia is still a major issue in our society. Transphobes are people who are homophobic, but to transgenders especially. It can be shown in physical, verbal, or online hate. There are also queerphobic people, these people pretty much just hate LGBTQ+ people altogether and will show it in as many ways one could think of. The general term for these actions is called 'homophobia' homophobic persons are called 'homophobes'. Homophobia should be reported immediately before it becomes more of a problem for LGBTQ+ people. On Google dictionary, homophobia is explained quite simply: "dislike of or prejudice against gay people." but it is much more complicated than that. I for one have experienced homophobia many, many times. The best way to not let it get to you is by always remembering: that you are valid. Don't let anyone take away your pride <3
