April drew in her sketchbook, thinking about how easy life was when she was in kindergarten. ‘I’m in high school now...’ she thought to herself. She was drawing her father. Although he was a lot older, he was still very handsome. She drew his hair, perfecting every strand. She colored it a nice blonde color, then shaded it. She thought about how he always worked overtime just to make enough money for her and her family. “I wish I had my own family...” she whispered quietly. The art teacher walked by in his click-clack way and scowled at her artwork. “Your supposed to be drawing something you care about. This isn’t draw your crush class, is it, April?” April scowled. “That’s my dad.” He laughed. “What, did he meet your mom at one?” “No.” The art teacher glared at her. “See me after class.” He said while walking to the next person. “Ooh, Violet that is an amazing drawing of me!” Violet smiled, her cheeks turning a bright red. “Ew what is that? Redraw it immediately!” “But-“ “Be quiet. No one wants to see that.” April wondered what that poor kid drew, and she stuck her head out and looked at the part of the paper she could see. It wasn’t bad at all! April suddenly felt breathing on her neck, and looked up. “April. You want to get in more trouble?” It was the art teacher. How did he get there? April realized that today he was going to be showing an example of good art but bad at following directions. Everyone was either perfect or horrible. She was the only medium. “April, today your going to present in front of the class. This is apart of your grade. Do well.”
