Usual housekeeping: Please don't post a certain abbreviation beginning with O and ending with G, because I find the meaning offensive. Thanks! Gratuitous shoutouts, because I owe some people who won my own DMC and I can't think where else to put them: @BiggieTwizzler, @BoyMan9813, @Allie_Gaunt, @luv_lavender, @-softest- and @unigirly9 are all lovely people and great artists and would really appreciate it if you'd check out their stuff and follow them! I don't know why, I just really liked the vibe of these two characters, so I drew them as best friends. I love this; the soft warm colours work so well in combination. Doing art is hard when your younger sibs are in the passage right in front of your bedroom door arguing about this overly complicated game they made up... REFS 1- Sketch 2- Lineart 3- I'll do the background first for a change 4- Base colours 5- Skin (aaaugh why does Cinnamon's skin look the same colour as the part of the background right behind her EVEN AFTER I added the lighting and shading) 6- Hair 7- Clothes 8- Details 9- Maybe I should, like, mirror the background so Cinnamon's skin doesn't look like part of it? 10- That's only made it worse, now it's Autumn who's got the problem and at least last time they had the same colour background as the refs. Change back, change back DONE Thanks to @--Creamii_Bunz-- for the contest and characters, and @ShrimpWriter (who left, long story) for hosting the separate DMC where in working on my entry I first realised I could use gradients for shading. I need to start drawing more of my own characters, tbh.
