The finished MAP is out!!! https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/678200950/ To continue the yearly tradition of a MAP that celebrates Scratch, here is 2022's Scratch Week MAP! In 2020, I hosted a Scratch Month MAP using the song "Cats In The Cradle." It was featured on May 18th that year. @RainbowGeckos also hosted a MAP using the song "Happy"; however, it was not recognized, even though it deserved to be. From "Happy," I met a lot of talented animators and continue to work with some of them to this day. In 2021, @RainbowGeckos and I decided to co-host a Scratch Week MAP that used the song "Try Everything." This was featured on May 20th of 2021. Through that experience, it became clear that this was a fun yearly tradition to celebrate Scratch. This year, we're doing "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz, one of the most popular 2010s pop songs and a beat that's fun to dance to. The theme of each MAP part is "Why is Scratch fun?" Instead of animating based on lyrics, the finished parts will be animated based on why Scratch is fun. (This means that parts can be energetic and convey the theme of "fun" in any way... including awesome memories that you've made on Scratch!) Some things to keep in mind: - Standard rules/common sense applies to this MAP. Nothing in your part is allowed to go against the Scratch community guidelines in any way, shape, or form. - There will be a one-part-per-person limit so that more people can participate. - NO BACKDROP ANIMATING. You can use up to 3 sprites when making your part. - No previous experience is required though @RainbowGeckos and I will be inviting a lot of people who have participated in previous Scratch Week/Month MAPs. - Anyone can try out for the thumbnail, although it is likely @RainbowGeckos and I will be asking a specific person to do it, as we have in previous years. If there is a stellar thumbnail that is made, it will definitely be considered :) THE FINAL DEADLINE IS MAY 10TH, 2022. No extensions will be given. However, this being said, please get your part done ASAP so that we can get a firm understanding of when we need backups to make parts. Without further ado, here are the parts!
