I hate it when idiots gatekeep culture but if y'all can't behave yourselves I'm putting the snakes back. You think I won't? Idk what y'all do for St. Patrick's Day but where I'm from we have big Mardi Gras style parades with just as much alcohol. That being said, it can get very dangerous. My mom once got trampled by some twentysomething year old drvnk guy while she was pregnant with my brother, and that's not to mention all the people breaking into our backyard to... "relieve" themselves. We moved, but it's still like that. Friendly reminder that this is technically a religious holiday and while I'm an atheist myself, I dislike the idea of religious holidays being used as an excuse to drink and/or reinforce cultural stereotypes.
