cumulus ☁️ dtae — ☼ click/tap, space bar, left & right arrows to proceed! ☼ so yeah…saw this dta and just HAD to enter for this character :D and the pose is kinda too popular…but anyway, i drew it! 1) final 2) final w/o outline 3) final w/o bg, watermark, & outline 4) final w/o bg, watermark, outline, & filter 5) ref (i saw this way after i finished…;-;) ☼ character info stuff name: rayneii age: unknown gender: she/they zodiac sign: aquarius b-day: feb. 4th backstory: (!! cringe warning !!) rayneii was created in an unusual way—water evaporated into a cloud, but an unusual combustion caused rayneii to rain from the sky instead of the usual downpour. she fell down, and probably should’ve died, but somehow, she managed to hover in the air before touching the ground. a scientist couple found her and took her, testing experiments on her to figure out how she existed. rayneii was named (see the play on words?) and was titled experiment 1897 by her “parents”. she didn’t go to school or anything, but she was still kind of an airhead (sorry puns). once she was old enough to understand things, she helped with the other experiments in the lab. a few years later, rayneii realized that her “parents” had only taken her in because they regarded her as an experiment, because of her unearthly abilities—she could float for a limited time, her body was made up of a higher percentage of water than most people (80%), and when she went near water, if she needed a bigger percentage of water, the water would soak into her. rayneii also had some characteristics of a cloud, such as her cloud-like hair and skin tone. eventually, she ran away and met a bird on the way—a storm petrel. she named the bird storm (for obvious reasons), and she was intrigued following the bird across the sky. she’d never spent a day far from the lab, and this was revolutionary for her. but she couldn’t float for long, because the water in her body started to float upwards. if she kept flying, she would evaporate. so, she landed and more water came to her. storm stayed with her the entire journey. she found a small cove to stay at. it was peaceful, but hard. people were a nuisance. but all she had to do was fly away, and she would be free. rayneii still missed her “parents” and working in the lab, though. she kept the lab coat they’d given her, always cleaning and wearing it over any shirt she wore. if she did go out in public, she would wear a hat and wig, but it was still hard to keep her fluffy, partly floating hair down. she was an introvert anyways, so it didn’t really matter much. most days, she would explore and get the essentials. as a cloud person, she didn’t need to eat, but she provided food for storm. each day, she would explore the world, learning about all the things she’d been shielded from early in life. since storm already had a long lifespan of around thirty years, he was happy to follow rayneii around. rayneii never forgot about her old life, but she didn’t regret it. ☼ summary & stuff so the pose was based off the floating thingy—but i forgot to do the pet ;-; if i win this character, i’d use her as an oc in maybe a comic/story?? not very sure where i’d use her, but i’d most definitely use rayneii a lot <33 ☼ credits art [] me character [] @--poison-pen-- art program [] adobe fresco song [] ily (from og project) ☼
