My mom has been well aware of Scratch's art theft issues since before @moss-shadow's most recent ban. (Which was like a year ago, but you know what I mean) My mom gave me an idea to protect my art But then it made me realize something. Why the heck does SCRATCH get to decide if our art is public domain or not? That should be OUR choice! Yes, turning off remixing or removing remixing entirely has been denied. But still! We should get to choose! Our work is ours! Not the Scratch Team's. I'm not saying we make everyone's work copyright. I'm saying we give a choice! Maybe when pressing the share button, a screen pops up that says if you want your work to be public domain or copyright, with short explanations of each. And what would happen with each option? Copyright: People can remix but when they press share it sends a request to the original creator in their messages (and maybe email if they haven't responded like in a week or so) to see if they would be fine with what the person has done! What about backpacking? That'd be a request thing too. There are a few drawbacks to this, but it'd be better than now, wouldn't it? Public Domain: The same as now. Everyone is free to change whatever with the exception of the guidelines.
Save the turbowarp link kids, it's gonna get taken down haha https://turbowarp.org/660458540
