In this Headcanon, Barrington is a British Railways Class 31, Built as part of the Second batch (fitted with headcode boxes). He pulled both passengers and goods across the network for many years, unlike most Diesels, Barrington is a polite and sympathetic engine towards steam engines (Which he was saddened to see get retired). He has a strong work ethic, always enjoys a job done properly. (Much like his F40PH Counterpart)
