So, my life began like anyone else’s… I was born, my eyes and ears still closed, me being the youngest child, I always stuck close to my big sister Terra. We were a good team, always hunting and playing together. Fast forward a few years, a group of wolves comes to my village, claiming that they were from Queen Ekala’s army and that they were looking for new recruits. I had eagerly pushed through the crowd, excited to start my training… it was always my dream to fight for her Majesty. Back then… I had no idea about her treachery and evil. They had accepted me and a few others, and, once we had arrived back at the palace, we began our training. From the start I should have seen the red flags. They were flashing big and true right in front of my eyes, but I ignored them. I saw fellow soldiers leave on secret missions that the Queen had assigned them. I don’t know what they were, they just never came back… But on my second year of being a loyal soldier, a young male had come strolling in, demanding for a place in the army. He was so handsome… his eyes a gorgeous green, like emeralds, and his pelt like desert sand, he even had a scar on the bridge of his snout. How he got that? I had no idea. But I instantly knew, we were destined to be together… even if my parents didn’t approve, I asked him to meet me on a hunt, and he agreed. After all, I knew that she-wolves and me could never mix. This went on for quite some time. A constant date-night every week, once a week so no one got suspicious. Then… a year or two of meeting in secret, we were busted… by none other than Prince Algean. He was outraged, and he had banished poor Meerkat on the spot, but gave me a warning, telling me that if I did not straighten out, that I would also be removed from the army. Months later, after giving up all hope for ever seeing Meerkat again, in he comes.. with his companions! But, they were shackled. All five of them. The blue one had an eye patch, the yellow she-wolf and the red-pink male never went two feet away from each other, and the indigo coloured she-wolf couldn’t keep her eyes off of my beloved Meerkat. Yes, I was surprised, and I did not know how to get them out, because whoever was a friend of Meerkat, was a friend of mine. I was guarding them, when Prince Algean had removed the blue wolf and the yellow she-wolf from the equation. I did not know where they went, but after hearing a loud scream from the other side of the palace, I instantly knew that one of them would never see the light of day again. Later, the Queen had demanded to separate everyone, so I followed her orders, a plan forming in my mind. The next day, I awoke to find that Meerkat and his companions had escaped. I was broken hearted, but I made it my mission to follow his scent-trail. And I did. I found him! I was overjoyed and had delivered a dead Pheasant to his wounded camp-mate, when Meerkat had introduced me to the indigo wolf, whose name turned out to be… well… Indigo. I could tell that she wasn’t going to take his explanation lightly, the memory of her loving gaze on Meerkat was too raw to forget. But I went along, willing to explain my entire story to Indigo once she had completed the meal, but I never got the chance. Who knew that the most helpful, quiet she-wolf could turn murderous and savage in the blink of an eye?
