1993 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R When the Fox-body-based SVT Cobra R was introduced in '92 at the Chicago Auto Show, it was Ford's first car in the SVT (Special Vehicles Team) division, designed to showcase SVT's four characteristics: Performance, substance, exclusivity, and value. The drivetrain received an upgraded transmission and rear disc brakes for increased performance. Creature comforts such as the radio and A/C were stripped to save weight. A total of 107 Cobra R models were produced, and all were painted in Vibrant Red Clearcoat.
