Enjoy classic 80s chiptunes on Scratch! Click the keyboard to switch to the next song. Click the bottom right button to switch to a new visualizer (make sure you turn on Turbo Mode, or the music won't sound right).
Huge thanks to @ibm360 for the awesome original project. I improved the code so that the tempo is constant, added composer info and correct years (except for the mysterious second track), and also added an optional new music visualizer made with the Pen. In the new visualizer, the height and saturation represents the volume, and the color represents the pitch. Since the project is resource heavy to begin with, it can't handle drawing with the Pen without being slowed down, so you need to turn on Turbo Mode (by shift-clicking the green flag) to make it run smoothly. @ibm360 has provided me with lots of interesting information about the original project. I assumed that he had used C64 SID music, but I was wrong. The original music was made for the YM2149 chip of Yamaha. This chip (or the similar AY-8192) was used in home computers like the Amstrad CPC, the Atari ST, or the ZX Spectrum. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Instrument_AY-3-8910
