Instructions

My alarm woke me up the next morning at 7 am. First day of actual school. I rolled out of bed, put on everyday clothes, grabbed my school things, and headed outside into the hallway. By 7:10, everyone was out in the hall. Brazen didn’t try to pull any pranks yet. The six of us headed down the steps towards the dining hall. Shadow got scrambled eggs and bacon, Naomi got waffles, I got toast and a fried egg, Brazen got a breakfast sandwich, Harlow got cereal, and Calli got a bagel with cream cheese. We had similar classes as last year, but at different times. Instead of Creative Writing/Literacy at 8 am, we had Spell-Casting. Today, we mainly reviewed the major spells we’d learned last year, seeing as how we were just coming back from summer break. At 8:30, we went down to our next class; History. This one was a new one, and it was replacing Rocks & Minerals. Professor Wilson introduced us to the topic, and outlined what we’d be learning; the three major wars of our world, major points in Earth’s history, and times when Earth and our world collided. Our next class at 9:00 was Creative Writing, for Brazen, Calli, and I, or Literacy, for Harlow, Naomi, and Shadow. After going down our separate halls, the three of us at Creative Writing went inside Professor Raymond’s classroom. We were told to write a poem describing our summer. It was due by the next class. I started the first draft of it and got through the fifth stanza before we were dismissed to our next class. 9:30 am is when we had Potions class. Professor Brooks gave us the assignment to brew a potion, whether from a recipe or from our heads, that represented how our summer went. For instance, if your summer was romantic, you’d make a love potion. If it was dreadful, you’d make a curse type potion, like poison or blindness. I decided on a calmness elixir, since my summer was relatively uneventful. At 10 am, the six of us went over to Enchanting. Professor Ryan had us enchant a favorite object of ours. I chose my most used writing pen. It had been starting to run out of ink over the summer, so I enchanted it to never run out. 10:30 was always Healing, no matter what year you were in. Professor Malone and Professor Gallow were the two healing professors. We’d gotten Professor Malone for the past two years now. We reviewed the healing spells and tricks we’d learned the past year, then started advancing a few of the spells, starting with the mental ones. I made a mental note to tell Ren later. At 11:15, the six of us headed down to the dining hall for lunch. After the meal, we went up to the next class, Astronomy. We memorized the different planets, and Professor Stars (not kidding, that’s literally her name) announced that we’d be predicting when the planets and dimensions would collide later. After Astronomy, we went to Math. We reviewed most of last year’s curriculum before we were let into our break. After the break, we had the year-wide class Professor Janet taught, Survival Class. We covered a few new monsters and animals before the school day finished. We had a good bit of homework that we didn’t get to finish during the break, so that’s what we did up until dinner. I told myself I’d talk to Shadow’s father tomorrow as I rolled into bed after the final meal of the day.
