28 May 2022: Installed decent thumbnail as part of a profile renovation effort. Gratuitous shoutouts, because I owe some people who won my own DMC and I can't think where else to put them: @BiggieTwizzler, @BoyMan9813, @Allie_Gaunt, @luv_lavender, @-softest- and @unigirly9 are all lovely people and great artists and would really appreciate it if you'd check out their stuff and follow them! My first attempt at a male character, which was interesting. I drew him in more old-fashioned, 'history-bounding' sort of clothes where they don't strictly fit any time period, but especially not this one. Half the sketches look awful, I know. I spent FAR too long on the face. And the lighting. I mean seriously, why did I do lighting like this on SVE? Art process included! This time I didn't bother with coloured lineart, since I tried it once and don't much like the effect. Incidentally, I have in fact read the released chapters of the book Rhei is in, and I have a pretty good idea of what the plot twist is going to be. But I'm not going to say what it is. To quote Granny Weatherwax in 'Witches Abroad': "I ain't lookin' like a fool if I turns out to be wrong."
