So basically... On February 24, 2022... Russia invaded a very small bordering country called Ukraine. Right before the 2022 winter Olympics, the country of Russia signed a petition with the other countries, saying there would be no attacks or violence while the olympics take place. All countries kept this promise this year... Except for Russia. They attacked Ukraine while the winter olympics were still going on. They took many lives away from Ukrainian citizens. Why did they do this? Well Russia wanted Ukraine's land. (Not sure WHY though... Russia is the largest country on Earth!) Long ago, Ukraine used to be part of Russia. But years ago, they became their own country. There were no attacks. No war. Ukraine was a small peaceful country of its own! BUT of course peace never lasts. Russia invaded February 24th, this year! After all the many years of peace, Russia randomly decided that they wanted Ukraine as part of their country again! Russia has so many weapons. So many soldiers. And Ukraine is just a small innocent country with no weapons. No people to fight. A lot of people are saying this could be the start of World War 3 or Cold War 2... Some powerful countries, such as China, have sided with Russia and they are not planning to stop until Ukraine surrenders... Or is destroyed. But there is still hope! Many, almost most, or the world is siding with Ukraine! We will NOT let Russia hurt innocent people! We will not let them suffer! So please... Give Ukraine support!
