The story behind my entry: Greyfur wandered too far away from the border of her clan and she was taken home by a Twoleg family. However, she always knew that her mate, Gingerstripe, would come and rescue her one day. Finally, she sees him running up towards the room she is kept in. She chews away her lead, but cannot tear off her collar. Gingerstripe tries to reach her, but the Twoleg father brings out a gun and tries to shoot him. Bravely, Gingerstripe presses on, but Greyfur, in order to save him, tells him that she enjoys life as a kitty pet and does not want him to be killed. Gingerstripe believes her and, heartbroken, rushes away. Greyfur knows she will never see him again, but she is grateful that he wasn't shot. Left alone again, she laments that all that was between them was one step...
