Akina has been training hard her whole life to handle the power of the purple flame. The power is going to be bestowed on a young girl who lives in the outside lands. Its holder becomes a semi-immortal being. Sia another girl who lives outside Gardenia gets these powers, and Akina is devastated. What Sia needs to know is that these powers are only gifted to be used to go through the Burning Oaks, a dangerous forest no one has ever explored. Along the way, Sia and Akina make allies to help them through their adventure. At the end of the forest lies a border, rumored to be connected to a magical world.
