28 May 2022: Installed a decent thumbnail as part of a profile renovation effort. I notice (because someone did this) that I forgot the message I usually put in, so here it is: There's an abbreviation starting with O and ending with G that I'd prefer people not to use in the comments, because I find the meaning offensive. Thanks! Gratuitous shoutouts, because I owe some people who won my own DMC and I can't think where else to put them: @BiggieTwizzler, @BoyMan9813, @Allie_Gaunt, @luv_lavender, @-softest- and @unigirly9 are all lovely people and great artists and would really appreciate it if you'd check out their stuff and follow them! 100% Scratch Vector Editor! I managed to do coloured lineart successfully for the first time ever. You're welcome. I'm slightly surprised by how many people like this, given that honestly I don't like it much myself. (I refuse to respond to any comments from people trying to change my mind on this point, although I'll still accept outright compliments should you choose to give any.) 1- Ref 2- First, really basic, sketch 3- Better sketch 4- ANOTHER sketch. Stop, Angua! 5- Lineart (finally). In order to be able to colour it properly later I drew first the hair, then the dress, etc. and copy-pasted the, erm, bits across one by one so they stay separate. There's got to be a more efficient way to do it, but I couldn't think of one. 6- Base colours. 7. Shadows. 8- Coloured the lineart. 9- Tiny details, tweaks, that sort of thing. Hair tie, eyes, mouth, necklace, etc. 10- Background 11- DONE! Sooo I tweaked the design a bit, I gave the dress puffed sleeves. Wanted to do bishop sleeves but they kind of had to be short with this sort of dress. Also gave dress the neckline of my favourite blouse, but with a tie at the front and without the gathers. About 90% of the time spent on this was procrastination lol.
