Instructions

In the late 1980s, front-drive midsize sedans were becoming increasingly popular in North America, outselling the now outdated large rear-drive family cars of yesteryear. Alcott knew it needed to take action and get in on the market - and that's just what they did. Development started in 1989 on their new midsize front-drive cars, codenamed project illusion due to the fact that they would appear smaller than their predecessors from the outside since they were downsized but boast more interior and trunk space due to transversely mounted engines and lack of a rear driveshaft. Development of the platform concluded in 1990 and the engineers were very satisfied with the results. After that, the designs of the vehicles were worked out and they were completed by late 1990 and released in 1991 for the 1992 model year. The Belandre was Lauriers take on the platform, the most expensive of the trio, meant to compete with other American luxury cars. Only available as a sedan with a V6 engine, the Belandre sold surprisingly well. Models: Standard - Base model with few options. Premium - Slightly more luxurious model with leather seats, chrome trim, and wire hubcaps. Sport - Sporty model with alloy wheels, larger engine, and a spoiler. Executive - Highest trim model with more chrome, red leather interior, and mesh wheels. Executive Landau - Same as an Executive but with a vinyl top. Engines: 2.8L V6 150HP 3.3L V6 200HP
