aproximately 11 wolf years ago month equivalent = idek yet so don't ask lol misty called eagle into her den one day, his hunting party was just about to set out. he begrudgingly went inside."what do you want?" he growled. misty lifted her chin with authority. "I want you to take the older pups battle training so they won't end up with any more injuries from those raccoons" she ordered. eagle's pelt heated. "tch! you interrupted my hunting trip for some RACCOONS??" he exclaimed, outraged how did misty ALWAYS seem to have the dumbest reasons to mess with him of all wolves? there was that time when dusty's head was stuck in a tree, when frost's head was stuck in a rabbit hole, when fox and shadow's heads were stuck inside a bush. (the annoying tasks involved a lot of head-stucking) and he HATED it. /stupid fluff-headed pups/ his brain hissed, thankful he'd never have any himself. "fine" he muttered eventually, and set out for training. "ahem" he said when the snickering croud of fox, aspen, shadow, and frost came into view "oh, hey mr mcbirdface!" shadow said, grinning, when he came over. eagle's blood began to boil as the pups burst into giggles. /I hate shadow the MOST/ he decided, baring his teeth. "don't. call. me. that." he growled. "sorry, eagle smeagle!" aspen chimed in, shoving shadow as they both collapsed into giggles fox and frost tried to hide their snickers. "YOU TWO!" eagle roared furiously at them both, they all froze and stared at him with terrified eyes. eagle grimaced, he had grown accustomed to scaring them into obedience by now, misty suspected nothing. "I AM SICK OF YOUR JOKES!" he yowled through gritted teeth. shadow and aspen looked at eachother worrily, shadow quickly grabbed aspen as though he were his property. "too bad!" he said defiantly. "you can't do anything about it, birdyface!" aspen lifted his chin "what he said!" eagle face-pawed and took a deep breath. "misty wants me to battle train you two, in case some beavers or raccoons or something wants to beat you up." eagle explained. "oh pff we can handle beavers and stuff we don't need you" shadow said. the words "we don't need you" echoed in eagle's head an ANNOYING amount of times as many stupid memories came to him. he shoved them away angrily. "TOO BAD!" eagle retorted, haughtily. "you're coming with me and that's THAT" they made it to a clearing in the woods and eagle turned to them suddenly. "aspen, attack me." he said flatly. aspen blinked "er- okay" he squatted down to leap on eagle's back, eagle ducked and aspen swiftly landed on his face. shadow ran over "I'm fine" aspen moaned "racoons and beavers are small, fuzz-brain" eagle pointed out harshly. /dumb pups./ shadow's fur bristled visibly "don't call my friend a mouse brain, you meanie!" he shouted in reply, he lunged for eagle and to eagle's shock; landed on him after he ducked. eagle reared back his legs and launched the pup into the air "shadow!!" aspen cried as his friend crashed into the branches of a walnut tree. "is that all you've got, child?" eagle sneered, grinning. /this feels surprisingly good/ he mused. shadow glared at him in furious tears. "NOT FAIR! you're twice my size!" he angrily slashed through poking branches as eagle went on laughing. "stop!!" aspen cried as he climbed the tree hastily. shadow fell from the tree, staggering to his paws. eagle was carried away and ran right at him with flexed claws. terrified, shadow ran, frantically and crashed into maple. "sorry!" shadow exclaimed, maple noticed his fear and put a paw on his back, glaring defencively at eagle, eagle inhaled sharply. "I- you-" he stuttered, staring at maple's enraged eyes. /stop it and be a wolf! she's just another pack member, idiot!/ he yelled at himself, forcing away more nagging memories "are you done terrorising these pups?" maple demanded angrily. eagle wanted to run away from her STUPID SUPERIOR SKEPTIC FACE! but reluctantly stood stiff. "I was... training them." eagle corrected. maple wiped a tear off of shadow's face. "seemed like another one of your violent displays" maple commented calmly as aspen walked over to her. eagle's fur stood on end. "WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?" he hissed, whipping around to leave. but paused. /I'm SURROUNDED by mouse-brains/ he thought sourly. /those pups DO have potential however.../ his thoughts churned. /perhaps I won't stop training them... just yet/ "alright." he said. "shadow, let me show you the proper movement." to be continued
