Back-story (as promised): Long ago, Blaze the chosen cat became lonely and he and his fellow cats became hungry. He made the hunters to keep them company and help search for food for the Chosen. He first only made the Sparrow That Makes The Nest (also known as Sparrow), but only one cat to feed and befriend all four Chosen? No, that simply would not do. Blaze made another, the Leaf That Blows Through The Woods (also known as Leaf). She was solemn and serious and was great at her job. When Scorching Ember was born shortly after, they grew up as friends until his father was killed. Now, she pretends to be wanting alone time so she can watch him gracefully search for his father. At night she asks him if he found anything, even though she already knows the answer, and then lets the medcats and mothers care for any wounds he might have gotten. Somedays Leaf wishes that she was a mother so she was allowed to help care for Ember, but she knows that her duty is much more important, and she also knows that asking the Chosen for something that stupid could result in execution. So, Leaf merely watches her love prowl the forests in search of his father. She daydreams of having him as a mate, but is too afraid to ask the Chosen if she could be a mother. She lives in a whirlwind of maybes and hopes and losses and dreams.
