See inside the project to see the brand-new vector sprites for Walburt, Ripley, Liza & Riley, as well as the most recent versions of the old editions. If you want to use them in your projects, just backpack or import them (I import the sprites into a special folder), and remember to ask me for permission before using them, in accordance with my ASK-FIRST POLICY. I know Vanessa's vector hasn't received updates yet, but hopefully she can receive them sometime soon. Perhaps you could also try to identify all the changes made between the old & new models? I don't really have an answer sheet anywhere, but the to-do list that I wrote down to guide me on these updates is inside of the backdrop, so you can check that to see what I had to do. TIMELINE OF UPDATES (2022): Writing down (most of) the To-Do list (21st February) Walburt's Updates (22nd February TO 23rd February) Most of Liza's Updates (23rd February TO 24th February) Ripley's Updates (25th February TO 2nd March) (updates slowed down at this point thanks to a very busy weekend out & about, and the beginning of school's spring term) Riley's Updates (2nd March TO 10th March) (no work done on 7th march) Liza's Winter Outfit (10th March TO 14th March) Starting on a Since-Scrapped Opening Animation (15th March) (i scrapped this animation since i felt like it would take too long, considering that i wanted to quickly share the updates i had already finished at this point - maybe one day i'll go back and finish the animation, though?) Last-Minute Check-Ups on the Raccoons (16th March TO 17th March) Preparing the Project for Sharing (17th March TO 18th March) Sharing the Project (19th March 2022 - 26 days since i first wrote the to-do list) Vanessa's Updates (planning to start work on them next weekend or the weekend after that)
The character vectors for Walburt, Ripley, Liza & Riley have received their biggest, sweetest, most savoury updates yet! After taking the time to write down the to-do list on the changes I'd need to make, I got to work making those improvements. And nearly an entire month later, I've decided to share what I've completed so far, so you don't have to use the old, outdated vectors for any longer. Say hello to these more refined, organized, and expanded vectorizations! There's a few reasons why I decided to make these updates, so I'll list the most notable ones below: 1. To update the art-styles somewhat & get them to better match how I draw these characters nowadays. 2. To fix a few design flaws that I felt stood out quite a lot, notably character's arms not reaching down below their hips (giving them pitifully short reach), eyelashes appearing too heavy (specifically on Riley), or the entire models looking too hardened & angular in certain areas. (ESPECIALLY with the shoes & feet) 3. To make the characters look smoother in general, outside of fixing the flaws. 4. To give characters who didn't yet have alternate outfits a bunch of alternate outfits, including a category of costume nobody had yet: swimsuits. And yes, I know I left Vanessa out of these updates, but don't think I've forgotten about her. I've decided to leave her vector's updates for later on, so I can get more time on other projects. The vectorization updates in this project can now also be found in Walburt & Ripley's character-bios project here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/515734692/, and any further updates I make are likely to only apply over there, so you know where to go for the most recent vectors. (i announce updates i make to them in that project's comments) So, whatta you think of these refinements that I made? Yay or nay? Hopefully y'all think 'YAY' since these took quite a while thanks to me becoming obtusely pernickety & many other events getting in the way. Credit to all, including Jean-Jacques Perrey & Harry Breuer for being the original composers of the background music. #walburt #ripley #W&R
