I totally haven't been fixating on Melpomene's design what are you talking about- Yeah. So. I wanted to work on adding movement in my drawings. This is the result of that lol. I love those hands eeee- Also the colors took way too long to think up haha She kind of looks like an evil artist. I'm not complaining, that actually fits her character pretty well. Speaking of her, I might as well infodump a couple of things here- She's very manipulative and controlling, often feigning kindness in order to eventually emotionally destroy that person. She's very good at illusions, and uses that to her advantage. On the battlefield, she is a force to be reckoned with. She's never where she seems to be, mirror images teleporting about the battlefield. She also can inflict a sense of deep sorrow in ghosts, which is how she won against Onyx. The only being she really cares about is herself. The Siblings are merely a means to an end, inflicting despair into as many people as possible. She actually gains power from places of tragedy and people who have lost all hope. For the most part, everything has worked out fine for her. Except for one notable exception. One mortal, an early alchemist of sorts, had refused to break under the pressure. Instead, they devised a trap to put an end to Melpomene. This worked, killing all participants involved. However, it turns out Melpomene is functionally immortal. So she comes back, with a seething hatred for alchemists, as this mortal had no living relatives for Melpomene to exact her revenge on. Thus, begins her private war. (Later edit- that last line is so over the top, but I kind of like it lol)
