I raised my head, the stiff, mountain air of the cloud village entering my lungs. I wasn't used to this altitude. My brown hair was frizzy due to the humidity. I looked around. The village was quieter than the cliffs of the air, but the structure was more similar to the central village. My gaze darted towards a sound. I walked through the road and past shops. A flight elf selling Sky flowers and another selling feathers. I was tempted, but I knew I'd have to save the gems Stratus gave me for the next trip to the central village. I turned the corner, my eyes slightly widening. There was a massive training field, bordered by stone walls and filled with training dummies. The strange thing was, there were only two people there. I walked closer, curious, placing my hands on the stone wall. There was a teenage boy, attacking one of the dummies. He wielded a thin blade and a set of firm flight elf armor. The teenage boy leaped into the air, slicing the dummy right down the center. He landed on his feet, knees bent, and standing up again. "Jumped too high, put too much strength into the sword!" The second person shouted. I felt a small flood of concern, I thought it was great. The teenage boy stood up. "THAT was my best attempt yet, and I'm sorry you couldn't see that!" he shouted, storming over to the wall. I snapped out of my trance. "Excuse me?" I asked. The boy jolted, turning to look at me. I could feel myself getting warmer. He was incredibly handsome, with unkempt pale blonde hair and warm, light blue eyes. "Oh um- sorry. I was going to deliver a letter to.." I rummaged through the bag, trying to find the letter. I could tell I looked like a cherry. "Horizon Breezeton." The boy nodded, crouching down. "Mind if I accompany you? My dad's a psycho." he said in a low voice. "Sure." I nodded, still studying his gaze, not wanting to be torn away. He started down the fact, me forcing my legs to follow. "So, tell me about you?" He asked as we strolled through town. I blinked. "I'm Sycamore Vinemoors, I'm a forest elf and I'm 17." I jabbered out, wanting to whack myself in the head. 'Don't embarrass yourself in front of this guy'. The boy chuckled. "Well, I'm Nimbus Gustington, I'm a flight elf and I'm also 17." He basically repeated. I smiled. "What's your job? I work for a shopkeeper in the cliffs of the air." Nimbus turned to be, almost pleased. "You're from the cliffs of the air?" I felt my happiness droop. "well I was from the cloud village when- Oof!" I said, interrupted by me smacking into someone's front gate. I looked at the metal sheet, screwed into the gate. 'Horizon Breezeton, 817 Skyview lane.' It said. Nimbus pulled back. "I'll wait here.". I steadied myself, taking a deep breath. My feet almost went on their own to the door, where I braced myself, and knocked.
