Before we begin, I have an important message to give to you. Just so we're clear, this is not meant to be a hateful message or an attack. I am only expressing my opinion about IGN (which is why the title of this project starts out with the word "opinion" in the first place) and I will try my best to back up my claims. Most of this information is about eight years old, so maybe IGN changed and I didn't notice it. Nevertheless, I do believe that this topic is something to consider and I hope that I don't end up offending any IGN fans out there, because that is NOT what I want to do. Imagine Games Network (IGN) was founded on September of 1996 and they are known for their reviews on video games. However, they are also known for the absurd claim that Sonic "was never good," but there is something ironic everyone should know about. They gave the original Sonic Colors from 2010 (not the HD remake just to avoid any confusion) an 8.5 out of 10, which is a good review. So, why are they saying that Sonic was "never good" when they gave a Sonic game a good review? It doesn't make any sense! Here is the link to prove it: https://www.ign.com/games/sonic-colors Now let's talk about IGN's content. According to Reddit user FueldByBacon, "IGN used to have decent content on a daily basis... until we ended up with articles such as the following examples." Unfortunately, some of the names of these articles can't be said on Scratch, so to make sure this project is following the Scratch guidelines, there will be a link to FueledByBacon's comment. Keep in mind that some of these articles might not exist anymore and some could (potentially) be fake. (For some reason, Scratch's bad word detector keeps mistaking the link as a bad word, so you're just gonna have to go to Google and type in "FueledByBacon What's Wrong With IGN?" Keep in mind that some people on the page were swearing, so anyone under the age of 13 may have to talk to their parents before entering). FueledByBacon isn't the only one to speak up, someone named firethorn43, who (judging by their words) did try to stay neutral in this debate, stated that "IGN's community (not MyIGN to be clear. I love that place) is disgusting to look at. All they do is complain, make subpar meme jokes, and are generally ignorant to what the news/review/whatever was about." While this might not be enough to show everyone how preposterous IGN's community is, it should be enough for the other side to consider what they are hearing. Now here's my personal opinion on IGN, going back to the whole "Sonic was never good" trash. IGN was basing their claim off of the games that were bad, while completely ignoring the games that were very good. That's like saying that Metroid was never good, yet you're only basing your claim off of "Other M" or "Federation Force" and throwing out the Metroid games that did good. Another example would be saying that Marvel was never good, yet you only base your claim off of the movies that didn't do so good like "Thor: The Dark World" or "The Incredible Hulk" and throw out the movies that actually did so good. I could go on, but I need to wrap this up. In conclusion, while I do think IGN can improve from the mistakes they have made and atone for the trouble they caused, I am very likely to have a hard time wanting to take their reviews (both good and bad) seriously because of all of this. But, all of this was from a long time ago, so chances are, they may have changed now. But I am still unsure if that is the case. Nevertheless, I'm going to let you decide if IGN's actions were absurd or not.

Description

I was going to point this out on my last opinion, but I felt that it was going to be off topic. Just like last time and like I mentioned earlier, this is not supposed to be taken as a hateful message and is not meant to be an attack. I am only trying to tell everyone my opinion about IGN and how absurd they have become (in my eyes at least). That being said, some of this information is about eight years old, so maybe they changed and I didn't notice, but I believe this topic is something to consider.
