Grover POV I'd like a day of sleep, thank you very much. haha like I'd ever get that. As soon as I woke up, an iris message shimmered to life before my eyes. In it I see familiar sea green eyes. Okay, so day not entirely ruined. "Percy!" "No time for that, Grover, sorry, but something's wrong with Thalia. At first I thought she was experiencing some kind of grief delusion, but her eyes... no one here has seen any type of magic like that, and Reyna's starting to freak out too." My eyes widened. "I'll make my way there." "Hurry, please." then the Iris message shimmered away. I quickly grabbed my panpipes and ran out the door. Nico POV After we helped Thalia to lay comfortably, we could do nothing but stare. After a full fifteen minutes, I stood up. "I'm going to take a walk." "Can I come?" Will asked hopefully. I was going to say no, but no one could refuse those puppy-dog eyes of his. "Fine, but keep up solace." "Says the eighty-year-old." "Oh shut it." he couldn't help but catch Percy's mocking kissy-face. grabbing Will's hand, I began towards the beach. And then /it/ happened. It started with five simple words. "I don't feel so good." And will stopping in his tracks. My brow furrowed in confusion and worry. "I thought you didn't get sick." "I didn't think I did. And it doesn't feel like sickness it's-" he stopped mid-sentence, his hands shaking. "Will? Sunshine, what's the matter?" I sat him down on a large rock. Noticing a spot of dust on his cheek, I went to brush it off. The dust floated away, but ten more took its place. The flakes of dust continued to float away, forming from Will's skin until nothing sat in front of me but little black and brown flakes of dust, floating into the sea. I stared in horror at what was left in front of me. Nothing. "Will?" I gulped, turning my head to look around. "Will!?" My heart pounded in my chest as I bolted back to jason's party. What I saw ceased the thumping completely. When he arrived, Everyone was fine. Until Percy wasn't. In the middle of teasing Annabeth about her studying, he stopped, his hand once fixing a strand of her hair, suddenly turning to dust. And so Percy went the same way Will had. Nico let out a heartbroken sob. Two brothers lost in the same year. Then Hazel and Frank. Together, after watching Percy with fear in their eyes, they floated away themselves. Piper's hands flew to her mouth. "What the hades..." Reyna looked up from Thalia. While everyone else had decided to do other things waiting for Thalia to awaken or Grover to arrive, Reyna had never left her side. until she had no choice. tears welled in her eyes, and she reached for Thalia just before she turned to dust. "NO! THA-" and then she was gone. Nico collapsed to his knees, feeling an obvious and heavy feeling of pure emptiness.
Question time! would it be sadder if I snapped one of the stolls and left the other to pure pain and madness or if I snapped Meg and left Apollo to feel something he hadn't felt since Hyacinthus and Daphne. loss. more parts to come
