This took a hot minute ...month I only did half of the characters because w o w drawing humans is hard. I just looped it back around, so now you get to see everyone twice as often :D Also Melpomene in the thumb is basically me asking myself why I decided on doing this. I know I don't normally draw humans. And I know they take a long time Yet here we are. Anyhow, the OCs in question! In order of appearance: Anya- One of the only untraumatized people lol. She's an alchemist, so think plants, but also with potions. She loves gardening, and she's an all around nice gal. She's aware that other people are struggling, and that she has it pretty good. This ends up with her trying to help carry everyone's burdens and not opening up about her own struggles, because they're "less important" Shockingly, she is not the main protagonist. Malice (Bonewood)- The descriptor is there because there is another Malice, who is (presumably) a completely different being. This Malice is a ruthless monster that destroys civilization within a ten mile radius. Never speaks, seems to hold grudges, is very angry 24/7, and that seems to be all the emotion it can handle. It disappeared a while ago, with a new Malice finding its way into more recent myths. Melpomene- Sassy gal who is absolutely the villain. She's a notorious manipulator, driving mortals to despair. Oh yeah. Important detail. She's immortal. She's some sort of spirit that manifested in some abandoned theater after the Day of Chaos (apocalypse) destroyed literally everything. She only cares about herself, though she is considered one of the Siblings, along with the second Malice, Onyx, Warden, and Wolf, because she has been seen working with them. She has also disappeared, though much more recently, and with a story popping up to explain her sudden absence. Vesper- A child who happens to have acquired an eyepatch. He never takes it off, making up stories that get increasingly wild every time someone asks why he wears it. Anya (his adopted sister) once pushed him too far, and he just made a shushing motion and drew a line across his neck. Whether or not it is actually related to what had happened is still a mystery, but it sure shut Anya up. Jack/Jester/whatever his actual name is- Jack is currently a travelling entertainer. Nobody knows who he is, where he came from, or why he wears a half-mask and wields a magical card. Nobody except perhaps Alice, his bodyguard(?), and she's not telling. Fairly charismatic, eccentric, high energy, fascinated with fire, and hates death in general. The big deal with the card is because it has a bit of a bloody history. If he really owns it, then he has likely had to do something big to obtain it. If the real owner is still out there, then why have they given Jack the card? Jack seems more interested in spreading the rumors than the actual truth. Alice- Aforementioned friend of Jack. Takes on bounties to help keep the surrounding area safe, and to earn a bit of honest money. She has a history of being a criminal, usually thievery, but has since come clean. She once took a bounty much higher than her ability, which she only survived because of timely intervention by Jack Ferrin (name is very WIP lol)- Perhaps the only immortal known to not spread destruction wherever he goes. Instead, he is something of a protector of humanity. He challenges other immortals in order to weaken them enough to buy the surrounding lands a year or two of peace. Thus, he is an extremely competent fighter. Blunt and honest, he is uninterested in talking his way out of situations. He is also a shapeshifter, having a wolf-like form. Which is his "original" is unknown. He has also disappeared, just before Melpomene did, and right around the same time as the Siblings, excluding the Warden.
*inhales* That was a lot of typing and infodumping lol I could rant about my gremlins for hours lol.
