Click on the ball and drag it to a starting position, then release. Then click on the ball and hold the mouse button to draw a trail as a single loop. When you release the mouse button the ball will disappear and the train will appear. Drag the train so it spans a vertical part of the trail. Press space and the train will hopefully follow the trail.
Just testing the idea having mentioned it on the forum.
