你好大家！ Today is Chinese/Lunar New Year (or Spring Festival, etc. It has many names), and since I've been studying Mandarin Chinese and its culture for most of my life, I basically had an obligation to make this. I decided to design a sort of 红包—a red envelope containing money that people give to others they care about—and it features a tiger because it's the Year of the Tiger :) For those you thinking: "Wait... New Year was a month ago," that's true! But this isn't the same thing. To summarize, China and other areas celebrate the new year using the lunar calendar (instead of the solar calendar like we use). So they begin the year/celebration on the first new moon of the lunar calendar and end on the first full moon of the lunar calendar. The celebration lasts about 15 days.
