Listen please, take the time out of your day, 3 minutes to 10 minutes - it won't take long. :) - Welcome to my TED Talk /hj /srs - Alrighty, this probably won't sound professional but I am going to say what I have to say :') - I am in a leadership class this year, it's year-round. It's my last period of the day and feels like a sanctuary compared to the other classes. Everyone there is always so KIND to each other, and we take the time to help each other. Enough about me -- this class -- that's what matters. The stuff we learn is important for everybody to know. Backup guys, look at the big picture. Sustainability, social equity, these things have to do with each other. Sustainability is "meeting the needs of the current generation without endangering the future generation's capability to meet their needs" This includes social equity. Black lives matter, stop Asian hate, LGBTQ+ equity. (etc.) Do you know why? It's because to stop these issues now, will create equity for everyone on the planet. If we can't be united as a human race, how will we conquest against global climate change? We can't. Exactly the problem. We're too busy fighting one another - the problem with the commons. We make mistakes. We have flaws. We're all human though - we shouldn't be destroying others to get to our own goal. So, stop. - - - Guys, be kind. Be generous, be patient, be forgiving, do whatever it takes to make the people in /your/ life feel like they're wanted, like you care. :) Treat others the way you want to be treated... Don't put others down. Don't judge others for their differences. - - - And most of all? BE YOURSELF. Don't change yourself just to make someone else happy, or because other people are teasing you or discriminating against you. For there to be social equity, we need to work together - and show our true selves.
