⟹⟹ Just wanted to make a funny little psa (public service announcement) on a not so funny little subject! ⟹ Art theft, to put it shortly, isn't good and it would be best if no one did it, but unfortunately, people do (you know who you are, I am looking directly at you if you do). Art theft is not only is it Plagiarism (which is illegal) but its also taking work that someone could have worked hours on and saying "yeah no I did this". The same goes for tracing, which obviously also isn't good. Tracing for personal benefit ( trying to understand an artstyle you maybe want your art to be similar to) and keeping it to yourself is ok in my own opinion, but when you trace something without consent from the original artist, post it, and go on to say you drew it completely on your own or without giving credit is wrong, and the same goes for blatantly taking art from others and saying its yours. I wanted to make this because I've recently had experience with an art thief (although they do use scratch, I will not be naming names) whos claimed multiple art pieces as their own - although it was really easy to find the images on Google - and consequently my comments were deleted when I called them out for it :D. I'm not saying that every person who steals should be yelled at, but it is very important for them to acknowledge their mistakes and move on from them, especially if the art thief in question is young, because unchecked an unhealthy habit can linger on much later in life. ⟹⟹ anyways thats my hot take! feel free to state your own opinion down below (i might just add it to the psa if im feeling quirky :eyes:) ⟹ teehee look at my sneaky little rat :D
