As of now... 1. use arrow keys to move 2. Hover over a block with the mouse and press space to change it.
I am currently still working on this as you are reading this, but I'm sharing it so anyone whos interested can see its making. I was also added to a new group, so I felt it would be great if I started off with some new projects. Credit to Michael F. for the inspiration/motivation for this chosen design.
