How to play the Trumpet: As you may have noticed, some of the notes are the same fingerings. To make a note higher pitched, tighten your lips. Lips: To blow properly into the horn, and to make a sound, you make an 'O' shape with your mouth. Then, you pull your lips tight and buzz. Do not let your cheeks puff out, unless you have to because it's a super low note. Feet: You are supposed to sit up straight, with your lets parallel, but apart. Your feet should be flat on the floor. Tempo: For better results when practicing without a conductor, tap your foot. Play to your foot tapping, but don't tap your foot to your playing. Water keys: Ok, so there is one downside on playing the trumpet. The water keys, or spit valve. When you blow into the trumpet, spit goes into it. There is a little button below the bell of the horn, and you should empty it after every lesson/practice.
