in 910 the newly formed East Colonial Government Railways began experimenting with electric locomotives the EA class was one the first designs and was designed by Arthur Rooikulyz Sr. and Hans Zuqlyzon they were designed to be able to run on either 10kV 15hz Alternating Current or 3kV Direct Current these locomotives used universal motors and could produce up to about 600 hp and were usually operated with MU control Losely based off of a PRR B1 and various South African locomotives
