This took about an hour, maybe two My thoughts on all the years (read to bottom): 2009--Minecraft is created by Notch, who releases his game. It goes through lots of experimental phases, and the community begins to notice this game. 2010--Minecraft grows in popularity, and more testing comes along. New designers join Notch's new company, Mojang. 2011--Minecraft officially releases this year, and the game becomes more popular, with over 1,000,000 sales! 2012--The popularity of the game experiences a surge, as lots of people pick up the game for the first time. The game nears 10,000,000 sales. 2013--The highest point in Minecraft's history, it goes through unbelievably great sales. 10,000,000 sales this year makes a new landmark. 2014--Not much exciting stuff happens in 2014, but Minecraft's still popular, due to the previous two years' success. 2015--Minecraft experiences a slump in popularity--some people are beginning to leave the game. It is still popular, though. 2016--After 6 successful years, Minecraft hits its first low point, with a dramatic drop in popularity. The game has just become boring to some people. 2017--The all-time low point for Minecraft. As if not to add on to its already-mounting troubles, new games like Fortnite are starting to take over and get lots of love and use. (This is when I picked up Minecraft.) 2018--Popularity experiences a small boost, and the game nears 100,000,000 sales. 2019--It's 2012 all over again; Minecraft's popularity booms. Lots of people are discovering or coming back to the game, and it's entering a new era. Minecraft hits 100,000,000 million sales! 2020--Another coasting phase, like 2014 again. Minecraft's popularity hardly declines, if not rising due to the COVID pandemic making some people stuck inside, basically forcing them to play Minecraft to have fun. 2021--New heights are reached in 2021. Two major updates and a major surge in popularity. Other games like Fortnite are now in their depressive stages. 2022--Not much has happened; we're only a few months into 2022, so expect a lot to happen! (Not to be taken too harshly, this is what I think)
